New here, looking at replacing my motor sailor with a more basic cruiser for exploring SEAK.

Welcome to TF. You'll be in good company here. Many prior sailers, who later moved to power for various reasons...mostly less labour intensive, less stressful, more headroom, warmer, drier, it's on the level, and it goes where you want rather than where the wind wants, etc, etc. See where we're going here..?
