Hi dimmer2 - thanks for replying. We are heading out this weekend and our daughter is coming so I shall ask her to bring her camera for some "glam" shots.

Don`t worry John, I`m in for the long hall and I can be a bit of a chatterer.

So, if anyone sees a Gazelle called Black Widow, that's her. Lovely boat. We eventually went with a Resort 35, and currently a Clipper 34, now on the market. I have her down at Horizon Shores.
Yes, please….put up some pics. Sing out if you have any trouble with that.

WE chartered (a yacht) in the Bay of Islands for two weeks - absolutely glorious area. For those unfamiliar with it, its a wide, open bay scattered with.......you guessed it....islands. Anyway, we sailed up north a short way to another Bay (name escapes me) the charter company said that was a good idea as there was a "bit of a blow" coming. Just love that Kiwi sense of humour - it was a Cat 1 cyclone!!! We were in a perfect spot for it - totally protected but it sure blew. Its our second trip to the land of the long white cloud - first was about 15 years ago for a touring holiday, mainly on the south island.

Troy,
That was her - I well remember your boat - you would have had a great view of the saga unfolding - first trailer arriving on Weds - first trailer departing on Weds as they realised it was too small, second trailer arriving two days later ( he had to go back to Sydney to get it - a days drive each way) then the final departure.
I remember your boat as I walked under and around her - I`m not sure I can describe what you are doing to her, its beyond a repair, beyond a rebuild... its...its HUGE. For anyone else reading - its an old classic wooden fishing trawler (the genuine article!!). I don`t know whether you have posted any story or pictures but I know everyone would be fascinated.
BTW, your seeing Malagari being loaded shows that the TF has eyes everywhere...........there is no where to hide.......someone is watching......

Hi George,
If you are heading out Saturday morning keep an eye out for us. RQYS is doing a power boat log event starting east of Green I, heading north then around St Helena Island and finishing just outside the leads. Starting at 0900 to 1200, displacement boats off early followed by planing types.
If you are out look forward to seeing you.

We mods have trained seagulls out there, constantly reporting. You can't tell which they are…but beware…they are there… on a pile or pylon near you…

And, our spy seagulls are specially attracted by biodiesel exhaust fumes, from reprocessed fish and chip shop cooking oil.

Mark - we cleared the harbour a touch after ten - I looked over to where the start was but I guess by then you were well on your way. Absolutely classic Moreton Bay day - glassy water and just beautiful temp - T shirt and shorts (that's to make the Northern Hemisphere members groan - we are about to hit winter - will soon have to pull out a sweat shirt )
cheers
