Hello from Los Angeles

Yes, this is the third thread in a row with the same title. I couldn't resist!
We are taking over!

But seriously, I've been reading TF for years since moving on from a
1969 52' motorsailer. I'm getting close to retirement so a nice dry pilothouse
is starting to sound pretty nice.

My search for the ideal trawler is about to begin so it makes sense to join TF.
Maybe I can contribute some things I've learned and share some blunders I've made!

Hi Rich, that was a great day about 7-8 years(?) ago when Iowa was parked outside
L.A. harbor for a lengthy inspection and probably hull cleaning prior to her berthing.
We took my 11' Whaler beyond the breakwater for a close-up view of the battleship.
My best friend Kit took the photo. His talent is pretty obvious, rest his soul.

Have you been out west to visit your old home?

I spent three years aboard and was still impressed at the sight of her every time I returned to the ship.
