Finally made it!
Nice to meet you, I'm Jacquie.
I was raised by an old salt who "made me" cruise as a kid each summer. I so didn't appreciate then and so yearn for now.
I've been on boats (and owned) both sailing and power all my life but finally bought the retirement condo a few years early, can't retire yet (53). Its probably a little small for most of you, but she's perfect for me as I can trailer her anywhere. Conchy Jac is my Rosborough RF246 with twin 115 Yamaha's. Maiden voyage was from Tarpon Springs to 10,000 Islands in FL and this past May I took her home to the Bahamas. West Coast, through Lake O, down to Ft. L then Bimini, Andros and Exuma's. She's awesome in heavy weather and fits in skinny places!
I'm an odd ball cruiser, have the boat but still working so can't go for more than 3 weeks at a time until I retire. Also a single woman owner/captain. That folks find really odd. You just have to do what you love and ocean/water/cruising is what I was raised on.
I'm looking forward to meeting other cruisers who know and love the life and welcome meeting anyone in my west coast FL cruising home grounds, Tarpon Springs!

Hey Rossigal: Just down the street from you is one of our most prolific (however frustrated) cruisers......Janice aboard Seaweed. I love your choice of boats. One day when we downsize, I'm sure the Rossborough will be on our short list.
Give us a shout if you're down this way in Longboat Key. My Admiral and I will surely be cruising Tarpon Springs, and we both like powerful women.

Welcome aboard. It's obviously in your blood if you're doing all of those things and going all of those places without being retired yet. Happy voyages and experiences.

Welcome aboard, Jacquie! Love your choice of boats! Trailerability adds so much flexibility to your destinations if you don't live on an island! I hope you left the trailer on the mainland.
I also appreciate your look-ahead planning for retirement. It's great when you can buy the boat before you retire. You'll have the chance to make her your own before your retirement date.
Is there a story behind the boat name Conchy Jac?

Wifey B: Yes, you're very odd. Where's Janice. Come in Janice. Another lady like you.
Seriously, nothing at all odd about it to me. You have a plan. You have a boat you like and enjoy. More power to you. And I think the outboard trawler type is a sensible idea for all the same reasons center consoles are outboard. I think you'll see more and larger like that.
Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooo glad to have you here. I'm very odd and I'm sure everyone here will attest to that, just a different kind of odd.

Hi Jacquie,
Nice to see another trailer-boat cruiser! Maybe when you have more time you'll want to haul Conchy Jac up to the PNW and give the Inside Passage a try. It's cooler and rainy, but gorgeous.

Born in Nassau, raised in Freeport and Abaco but that was many years ago. I've been in States for a while.

As hubby B, I second Flywright. I just get the feeling you will truly enjoy retirement. While we have many here doing so, if you look at a cross section of the population there are many who don't. They're totally unprepared having developed no hobbies. Our hobby was obviously boating and we'd been working on that a long long time.
