Chb

I have a 40 year old CHB Trawler. It has 2 x 150 gal fuel tanks but only one of them appears to be getting lower on fuel. Does anyone know if the second tank kicks in when t he first tank is empty?

Welcome to the forum!

Have you checked for a valve at the fuel tank?

Doubt it, Del. You'll probably have to change the valves. One for "to engine" and one for "return" for each tank.

Yes, I have checked for a valve. Both tank valves are open and there is no separate select valve.

Turn the valve off for the tank appearing to be emptier and see if the engine runs with fuel solely from fuller tank. You may have a plug in the line or maybe unused fuel is returning to only one tank.

Make sure the return is going to both tanks.
