Salt water powered car

The friendliest place on the web for anyone who enjoys boating.

Salt water is not the source of power for this car despite the introductory statement that it "runs on saltwater". If anything it is an experimental battery chemistry, that the developer claims has a much higher power density than lithium batteries.

These kinds of press releases come out periodically and the press has no clue about the science, just the sensational headline. Rarely do these concepts get commercialized for the simple reason that if it were that good and that easy it would have been done already.

And FWIW I do understand the first law of thermodynamics.

Yep, does not pass the initial smell test. Most of these are geared to relieve unsophisticated investors of their money, but that is the cynic in me typing.

If they really had revolutionary battery chemistry, they would be quietly filing patents and NOT making some 300mph go-fast. Anyone can make a go-fast electric car. Whoever comes up with game changing batt chemistry is a billionaire.
