Another WW2 veteran dead. Brokaw’s greatest generation who because they all fought together always put what was best for America over policy differences.
I met him once when I was working on my pilots license and he flew into New Hampshire on a private jet for a debate. I went to shake his hand but he offered his left hand and I noticed he had a pen in his right hand , to discourage that as he had lost use of his right arm from the war. We talked for 10 minutes before he left, as he waited for his car. He was the definition of personal grace and integrity then. Really sad to lose another icon.
