Population

Greetings,
World "overpopulation" has been cited, by several members, in more than one thread for the cause of various world "ills". Your prayers may be answered. https://www.huffingtonpost.ca/entry/...ef=ca-homepage

I don't have a particularly good feeling about this one...

I'm not all that happy it was at the local hospital the same time I was there. I had overheard a few cops talking about it, but did not know the extent till days later. Not much is being said, I am sure he was in contact with more than just 16 people traveling on a plane and through Seattle Air port and what not.

A Malthusian envisaged population reduction by pestilence/disease rates well below the current population acting to reduce reproduction. Better to start with less people than have the present population die of disease.

There is always a lot of sensationalism with news related to virus.
SRAS, H1N1 name it, all were supposedly THE killer.
While they killed hundred of people and it is a pity, the simple annual flu is killing far more every year and still it is the traditional winter event the everybody is waiting for, not talking about death toll on the road or other common pathologies.

Greetings,
Mr. L_t. Agreed. Sensationalism is a good word BUT, as I said I've got a bad feeling about this one.
Chinese New Year is the largest, by far, celebration in China. Millions upon millions of people are traveling. Primarily city folks who take this one opportunity a year to visit their families in the countryside and other cities.

Captain Morgan Rum and Coke in copious quantities has been scientifically proven to be an antigen to all viruses.

Strange it is the same for wine, we may be onto something!

Moreover if you think that vaccine won't work, triple the dose and it will kill you before the virus can attack!

Ok back to my glass of wine

I listened to an interview of the top nurse who was in charge of the Canadian SARS "epidemic" in Canada a number of years ago.

Roughly this was her comments:

1. We know more about SARS than we did back then.

2. Better plans are in place than back then.

3. There are vaccines available, there weren't back then.

4. This SARS strain isn't as strong as the last SARS epidemic.

Greetings,
Mr. BK. 4 months is a long, long time but it's better than nothing. I think it's safe to say that the Australian team is not the only one working toward a vaccine. The gene sequence for the 2003 SARS "bug" was identified in 12 days and the technology HAS improved since then, I'm sure. The time limiting factor is the growing of the vaccine after identification.

This strain has probably been active for at least a month and a half already or perhaps longer given the information supplied by China which is usually heavily "sterilized".

Mr. L_t. I really don't think weapons are necessary given where you live but wine? sure, why not. If nothing comes of this at least you will have a few days supply...

Indeed, the ABC article says they are one of three research teams around the world working on it, and there will likely be more. Hopefully all co-operating too.
No more China Eastern flights here from beautiful downtown Wuhan for now.

Greetings,
Mr. BK. Wuhan isn't the most beautiful Chinese city I've ever visited. It was hotter than Hades when we were there and I can easily see why it's called one of the three furnaces of China.
