Folks worry about a lightning strike while cruising. However,

A marina might be an even bigger target with many boats and a mile of wiring.

"Square D by Schneider Electric QO250PSPD QO Plug-On Neutral Whole House Surge Protective Device"

Simply plugs into a 240V CB socket on the panel, and might be a fast cheap ($79) bit of protection for the boats AC wiring.

If you have Square D service panel...... Which is residential and I don't know of a lot of boats that have it.... in fact I don't know of any.

FF...did you mean on the dockside shore power panel?

For the shipboard side, converted commercial vessels or fishboats may have square D panels....or you could install one if you have a breaker at the inlet because the main panel is more than 10 feet away. But admittedly not many.....

Sure suppressors are available for R/Vs that may be more suitable for marine use than the kind requiring a SquareD box.

The RV units simply attach to the power cord , but must be water resistant , and are easy to steal.

One requiring a CB space on the inlet box could be installed with little effort by most anyone.
