Steelhead WD600 crane jammed?

My Steelhead WD600 deck crane worked fine last fall but won't budge now. I can hear the winch trying to turn inside but there is no activity at the hook. I don't see any way to gain access to the internal spools or mechanism. Any suggestions? Thanks.
