What is a shielded multimeter? Aren’t all meters shielded? Reason I ask is I have to do some peak voltage readings on the outboard for the sink and the DV adapter I’m using states the multimeter you use with it must be shielded. Unable to find anything in the documentation or specifications for my meter. TIA

They may be concerned about ignition interference. I wouldn't be, though.
Old school analog meters may have been more sensitive to that than the new ones.
If you get odd readings just move the wires to a different spot and compare.
