Need input on SIMRAD Autopilots

Hi Guys!

I would like some input about the new generation of SIMRAD autopilots. Mainly, the AP24 and AP28. Does any of you have experience with these equipemnt and its reliability?

Thank you all

Need input on SIMRAD Autopilots

We installed*the *AP24 2 years ago and have no complaints.* We have 2 control heads with one in the PH and the other on the Fly-bridge.* It's easy to install and the connectors are small diameter so there are no large holes to drill.*We only use it to steer the boat.**

All the big manufacturers are now NMEA 2000 and have their own proprietary cables which are non-standard.* Simnet (Simrad) will accept NMEA 183 but you have to buy an AT-10 Converter cable.* It was $110 and does one input.**The AT-10 will convert 183 to 2000 or vise versa.* I found this was not unique to Simrad.* The AP24 has more capabilities than we'll every use.

When we were putting the system together and during the installation, I called Simrad several times and always got the information and help I needed.*
