The transducer for the “Huminbird” fish finder on the skiff died and a neighbour found me a used Lowrance Elite 5 with transom mount transducer for $175. I’ve got this unit working but the Navionics charts will cost $289. The old unit had no charts.
So, if I download the CHS ENC charts from Coastal Explorer for the BC coast onto a suitable chip, will the Lowrance unit be able to read those by any chance? I guess nothing ventured, nothing gained. The file extension is .RPASENC.
