The J1939 uses 6 pin Deutsch connectors so relatively easy to swap the wires around. On my setup the red/black wires were the typical voltages, while Yellow was data high (think sun) and green was data low (think grass). After swapping the wires the gateway is working perfectly.

Great news. All the Deeres I've worked with use yellow and green for CAN. Another way to sort out the + and -, if you remember about color temperatures, is that the positive color is "always" the hotter color, and the negative is the cooler color. "Always" is a dangerous word in boats, but I've seen this to be pretty universally true. And not just for J1930 or N2K, but for 0183 too.
