Humminbird HDR 650

Hi all.
Has anybody used one of these as a depth sounder on a larger boat perhaps as a backup for a primary sounder? If so how did you fit the transducer in the in-hull mode?

Hi John, my MS 30 Pilot II has one as the primary depth finder. PO only ran the boat in local coastal waters, so was probably adequate. I hope to run at least some of the loop, so an upgraded depth sounder is likely a good investment in unfamiliar waters - will keep the HB as a back up. The HB's transducer is glued to the inside of the hull - works pretty good. New one will be mounted thru hull per mfg. Should go in by end of the year. Will let you know how it goes.
