If all connections are permanently mounted and you aren't removing the display frequently, then get to the connections and disconnect and reconnect everything a few times (5-10).
The corrosion can build up on the pins and contacts and cause sporadic disconnections. By disconnecting/reconnecting, you're esentially scraping the corrision off and making good contacts again.
I've had to do this with blade style fuses as well. Years ago when I was a computer hardware guy, we used to do this with cards on motherboards. a card dies. The first thing we'd do is open the case and unseat/reseat the card again. It very frequently got the server up and running if we didn't have a spare and were waiting for a replacement to arrive.
