Garmin Boat App

I am looking at two navigation apps for Android phone. Navionics HD with the $14.99 chart for the US and the Garmin Boat App with a $149.00 chart. If the Garmin is better I have no issue with extra bucks but hate to waste. Any thoughts on why one is so much more than the other? Is it better? Thx for all comments.

In the Bahamas you will want Garmin as they have Explorer Charts. I have Garmin Blue Chart on my phone for many years and don’t remember paying for it.

I thought garmin dropped explorer charts. AQUAMAP has them for iPhone and androids

Thaks for the comments. Sounds I will need two apps when I get cruising away from home port - wife will load the Garmin on her i-pad (so she can tell me "i told you so" when i run aground...."

Garmin and Navionics charts are now one. Simply download the Navionics Boating app and purchase and download the Bahamas charts. https://www.navionics.com/usa/apps/navionics-boating
I have used it throughout the Bahamas and Caribbean and it's been awesome.
