Converter resister size?

Resister size? for converter: Fieldstone Product? POWERMAX PM4-4LK to replace variable resistor for output Voltage. We are cruising in Lahlahland, where such specialized parts and repair shops are unavailable. We would dearly love to use a proper but available alternative replacement in this great little ~13-16V charger.

Can you read the color rings on the resistor?

No markings. No colors...

Do you have an ohm meter (multimeter)? You should be able to just measure it in place but if you have a soldering iron you can just unsolder one leg and measure it that way. Of course I'd suggest disconnecting both the 12 and 120 lines.



Also, use a magnifying glass if you must and see if you can read the part number on the variable resistor (I'm guessing that's what it uses since it appears to have an adjustable output voltage) and that should give you the min & max resistance ranges.
