Our new to us ‘87 CHB 42 foot Europa came with zero information in terms of things on board. Can anybody tell me what it is? My best guess is that it’s an antenna of sorts from an old nav system but I’d like to be sure before I remove it. The barrel at the top about 2 inches tall and the same in diameter. What appears to be a stripe about a 1/3 of the way down from the top are 3/16” holes. They go all the way around the “can.” Thanks in advance.

Looks like a very poorly placed nav light, maybe. Congrats on your new boat. Enjoy.

Looks like one of those anchor lights that isa row of individual LEDs all the way around. Try turning on your anchor light.

Greetings,
Welcome aboard. Trace the wiring. You're going to have to do that anyway if you were to remove it. Please don't be one of "those" owners who simply cuts off wiring and leaves it dead and in place.

My guess is with Ted.
Is there another anchor light present and working?
Any mfg name?
You might try a Google image search using a tight cropped pic of the top piece

My guess is old style all round white light (maybe manufactured in Fiji)
