This is really driving me mad I admit I am not a great tecki however think I am capable!!
I have installed my G-STAR 1V BU353s4 on Windows 10 I am showing a driver

Prolific USB-to-Serial comm Port Com3
I have OpenCPN 5.2.4 +6b3314e6 downloaded and functional and charts loaded.
No matter what I try I cannot get the BU353s4 to talk to me it is flashing a red light indicating transmitting !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any advise will be greatly appreciated

I omitted to say I have the driver set at :
Bits per second 4800
Data Bits 8
Parity None
stop Bits 1
Flow Control None

Sorry but you lost me at the title of the thread... Good luck, hope someone can help you.

Check the sensor instructions, I believe flashing red means initializing or acquiring. You see your USB to Serial on Com[] in Device Manager. In OCPN, settings > connections > new connection, setup your connection for that port. Click the debug window button, you should see lines of text scrolling, if not, the sensor is hung up initializing and is faulty. If the sensor has a fix you'll see L/L numbers in the text and will have a GPS OK indication. If no numbers are there it is not getting a fix, could be faulty or require a better location.
