Need help. Moving our new to us Nordic Tug 42 to have some work done in Deltaville Boatyard. While she’s on the hard thinking of redoing the electronics and sensors. Also, like DSC so,adding a second VHF. Currently all RM stuff which works but is old. Thinking of Simrad or Furuno as replacement. Don’t like Garmin and am +/- on RM. familiarity breeds contempt.

Which electronics house would you recommend in the Deltaville area?

It has been a number of years since we were in Deltaville, but we used Marine Electronics in Hartsfield, VA just up the road from Deltaville. Had good service at the time. Don’t know about now. Maybe worth checking out.

I would encourage you to look into Zimmerman's Marine in Deltaville, they are a full service yard and generally work on all aspects of a yacht (or did, haven't used them recently for electronics). We initially used Deltaville Boatyard but moved to Zimmerman's and were happy with the result.

Thanks guys. Want the work done while she’s at Deltaville. Know any vendors that would come into that yard?

If the boat is new to you & everything works, my preference would be to book a slot at Mid Shore Electronics in Cambridge, MD sometime next year. Using the boat for a bit will highlight new needs for you. MSE has a great team & provides free slip at their Cambridge facility. The only thing that needs to be done out of the water is sometimes a new thru hull if new transducer is not compatible with old thru hull.
