Don’t do it! Replace the seals, don’t add snake oil, as the sealant will cause problems in other system components.
I much prefer a separate autopilot control at each station, and I do have a remote as well.
The autopilot function uses up screen space, and I have to exit autopilot to do any other work on the screen, which leaves the boat wandering while I’m pondering my maps or fish finder.
