Crusty-life is a bitch-but someone has to do it. Enjoy!

We've had great weather since starting this trip!
We left Portland on the 30th, crossed the Columbia bar on April 1st and headed up the coast. Friggin crab pots, JEEEEZZ. We were 5 miles off the coast and still dodging em.
Spent nights in Westport, La Push and Neah Bay. Neah was a dump! Stayed in Port Angeles for a few days then headed for the southern San Juan Islands. We're currently in a favorite of ours, Mud Bay. Nice quiet spot, we will head up a bit tomorrow for a few more days, then over to Whidbey Island for a week of so. Stay on The east side and visit the Oak Harbor Tavern and maybe even run over to Coupville and visit Toby's.
We plan the trek north around the 1st of May, turn around at Prince Rupert and head south. Should be back in Portland Sept./Oct.
If anyone sees us on AIS, hail us and maybe we can have a cold one and tell lies!

Eat the steaks, drink the beer and enjoy the view.

Sure beats a poke in the eye with a sharp stick!

Thanks Richard,
Think you'll make it back in the water in May? The trip south sounds great, and the warmer weather will be a pleasant change I'm sure.

Ha, that's such a softball... start sanding and varnishing again:)))

Just kidding... enjoy a few moments reflecting that no other life on earth can do as you are doing when and where you are doing it. I guess the short version is "enjoy the moment"...

Cc

Why turn around at PR? Without hustling you could be in Ketchikan by Mid May and do the trip to Glacier Bay. Easily be back to Port Angeles by early August.

Alaska is next year, so much to see and do in Canada. The wife hasent seen the Canadian inside passage so thought I'd let her experiance it before heading For Alaska. She really likes the winery tours..

Wife asked me to post a pic of the boat, don't remember ever posting one.

Crusty, when you head back to the Columbia, head upstream another 200 miles to our neck of the woods and the drinks are on me. The trade off for the freebie drinks is to hear your tales of your summer.

There's a brew pub right at the top of our docks and plenty of transient moorage to go with it.

Where are those BC winery tours? Not Namu or Ocean Falls :D

Yours is a really great looking vessel. She has to make for a great season aboard. Great for you two.

Mike,
We talked about making that trip a couple of times. But sorta doubt that after this trip and we get near Portland, the wife is gonna be chomping to get home and see the grandkids.
But thanks for the invite. We will put it on the bucket list!

Your KK is no slouch! Thanks for the kind words.

Get her within 50 miles of one and she sniff's them out. Besides, by the time we cross into Canada, her wine stash will need restocking.

Is the flag in the pic, hiding PA's little getaway. No pubs close to Mud Bay is there?

Heading up north starting May 15 from the GB rondevous in Roche . Well look for you on ais. Wish you fair weather...

We just finished up the Selene rondevous, and are in Vancouver now. Should be at Chatterbox in another week or so. Hope to meet up with you.

A month later and we have only made it to Half Moon Bay ( In Canada, of course) , what a cool little place! The locals greater us at there public dock and asked all kinds of questions. Wish we had done this a few years ago! We are having a great time!
All I can say is don't wait, go!
Hope to meet up with a few of you soon! We will be in Pender Harbor tomorrow for a few days, then up the straight to Chatterbox Falls. I'll try and get a few pics uploaded, that's normally the Admirals job as she does the blog updates, but I'll see if I can get her laptop for a few minutes to send some pics. This one is at Whidbey Island.
Cheers all!

Left Chatterbox Falls the other day, what a great trip up the Inlet. The amount of water running in all the falls is unbelievable. Probably won't last but a few more weeks as the snowfall is melting quick. The weather has been awesome, mild wind and temps in the low 70's. Gonna get a bit cooler for the next week or so with some rain. "Pairadice" needs a good bath, so with the water restrictions in effect a couple days rain should help to wash off some of the salt.

Was wondering what to do next when.....

Standing in the cockpit when who should pull up right behind me. The ASD made it.

Tom and Kay were a great surprise here in Port Mcneill. Happy hour on our boat then had a little party at the Pub with our Canadian friends Bill and Wendy on another Selene.

Then it was back to the dock for more adult beverages and Cigars!

Shame we had to leave at 5am the next morning, we made it to Shearwater this afternoon. We hope to meet up again.

What a great story! I love it when TFer's get the opportunity to meet.

There are so many great folks here. Without an airplane at my disposal anymore, I'm gonna have to start expanding my cruising horizons to meet some of you folks!

Cheers!!
