Successful run from Seattle to Sitka in our new boat. 18 days for just under 1000 NM. Stopped for one day for repairs and one day to wait out a forecast 60 knot blow. Couple of pretty snotty days we probably should have waited, but otherwise pretty easy for this time of year. Daylight was limited but the anchorages were empty.

I’m envious. We did it in April. Not sure if that’s better or worse, but it was fine, and definitely “off season” which I like.

We have done the trip several times in April with similar conditions. Those trips were open-ended with no schedule, and a lot more fun than a delivery like this one.

What was your route to Sitka....how much of it did you travel 'outside'?

We pretty much stayed to the ferry route on this trip. The weather was pretty iffy and I was trying to make it back in time for Thanksgiving. We have done much of the outside route in past trips and enjoyed it. The landscape outside is very different than what you see inland and there are usually a lot less boats.
