Is Anyone Cruising Right Now?

The friendliest place on the web for anyone who enjoys boating.

For the Great Lakes, we'd like to take the Trent-Severn Waterway, but that's up to Canada. We fit under the Erie Canal western half 15’ 6” clearance limit by a foot. And that route would also be fun.

This is really weird - Florida started vaccinating >60y old's on Monday; I'm 60. We docked at Roland Martin's in Clewiston and I walked into town and got the shot yesterday at Walgreens. Booked it online 2 days prior. There is a lot to be said for going with the flow...

In CT, vaccines open up to 45+. I think we are ahead of many states. I get my second shot in 2 weeks.

Nice! Were you in La Playa? We're heading up to Catalina for a couple weeks on Tuesday assuming the weather holds. So far it looks pretty nice. Going to be like Noah's ark, with the wife, our three kids, a borrowed extra kid, two greyhounds and one mouse (that we know about).

We got out for the first time since putting the boat to bed in November. Nothing special, just a lazy trip to Friday Harbor to shake the dust off. Had some nice weather so got lucky. Only a few minor problems to sort out. Got a chance to hang some engine room cameras which has been on the task list.

Felt really good to be on the water again, I'm not used to this whole winterizing thing and not being able to use the boat for long periods. I don't know how you guys on the East Coast survive the winter.

We work on all of the boat projects we didn't feel like doing while we had the option of using the boat!

Left the Gulf Coast in early February and checked into Bimini this week. Plan to cruise the Bahamas for 3 months.

Or we work on all the non-boat things we neglected for the last 9 months

Have fun on your trip. I miss those days when our kids were younger and brought their friends along. Hopefully we will cross paths out there at some point.

Not cruising yet but very soon. My boat is ready to go.

Holy cow - now that's what a Grand Banks is supposed to look like!

Congrats - you must be chomping at the bit!

She really is a gorgeous boat.

Take note all you naysayers of teak decks and varnish.

Beautiful indeed!

I am curious about the gangway. I see them often on European boats but seldom on boats here. Hydraulic extension? Up and down angles as well? Is the manufacturer European?

Thanks and congratulations on your beauty!

Thank you Messieurs Andy and Klee wyck, very nice of you :).

Yes it’s hydraulic, it works from lower and upper helm also with wireless remote control, up and down angles, with a hand rail. Expensive but very convenient in European marinas.

As well it can work as a crane to lift a tender up to 770 pounds / 350 kg on the swim platform.
