I had a Wagner Steering system installed in a heavy work boat with a barn door rudder over 20 yrs ago. It's still going strong. One thing you may run into is needing a constant running pump for the autopilot, jog steering or FFU steering.

The larger Sea Star Systems, called Capilano, are excellent and reliable. There are many members here with these systems that can attest to their reliability, and installation is very straightforward.
The Wagner Systems are excellent as well, but I don't think Wagner has the support network that Sea Star does.
