Hi All. I have Side-power bow and stern thrusters of indeterminate age (at least 25 years old). After hauling the boat out this week I've noticed the starboard blade on the stern thruster has a chunk out of it.
Ive been told parts are not available anymore from Side-power. The only distinguishing identification is a White plastic cover on the internal unit. Does anyone have suggestions where I can get after market or used parts.

Pictures of the prop and drive shaft would be helpful.

Contact IMTRA.

They have always been most helpful to me in matters Side-Power.

Gaston, the prop is a light weight composite of some kind.

I'll be back at the boat later today and will take some photos of the props and system.

Sorry for the delay in getting the photos up. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like minor damage. If you can't fine a replacement, grind off equivalent material on the opposite blade to get some better balance. Should be good enough for a stern thruster.

Thanks Ski in N C.
Finding parts is proving problematic. I think I'll take your advise.

Doug: I don't think getting parts here in Australia will be hard...I have an older SidePower too and am in Sydney. Call Steve Morris @ AMI Sales, Lane Cove Sydney 02 9816 7100. You will need the measurements of the propeller & tunnel diameter to hand. If you haven't already done so, use a mirror or mbl phone to take a pic from under the motor to see if there are any model/serial numbers there. Also, you will likely need anodes...ask Steve about those too and get aluminium ones, rather than zinc, if they are available.

(Nice OA btw !)
