My Refinished Nameboards

I photographed these, before the degrade/refinish cycle restarts by refitting them. The letters are in yellow gloss oil paint which lasts well, with Cetol TGL Gloss Plus over wood and letters. Getting the boards back to bare wood using heat gun and scraper is easy, avoiding the letters as the yellow just needed one recoat. This time I applied a diluted teak stain to restore the wood color and reduce the depth of sanding, it will fade, but they`ll look good when they go on.
There is always something satisfying about restoring a timber surface, especially when the boards are the originals from launch in 1981.

They look AOK - Malagari still has the boards but a PO used screw on chrome letters - which look good to me too.

Mr. BK. I like the look but will admit, not ever having noticed the name of your vessel before, that the first thing that came to mind was..."Andrea". Need a second cup of coffee badly...
