It's enough to drive a man to drink!

Bruce, do you ever pop over to Dangar island, it's a hoot. Grab a bite to eat & cold beer at the bowling club(depending who the current chef is)and pay your $5 for an afternoon of barefoot bowling in a great setting.

The only problem with Dangar is anchoring and getting ashore. We normally anchor off the western side, putting out a lot of chain and carefully dodge the rocks and Oysters on the way in, in the RIB.
Great thought Andy. It`s a backwater people should explore.
We did a walking tour a few years back with a cruising group up from Sydney, guided by local "Dangar Dave" at a modest fee. We explored it first to check it was worth doing. Fascinating place with lots of history, definitely worth a visit, I have met people with holiday homes there, some real characters live on the island.
Dave organized a mooring for the boat we took, overcoming the anchoring problem. The coffee shop cafe is community run, it`s that kind of place. A regular ferry runs from Brooklyn, worth taking just to watch the solo operator tie up at Dangar on a spring, engine idling in gear, as people and goods unload and load.
