I pulled the port engine to replace the port fuel tank, but back issues prohibited me from being able to replace the tank. So I am going to settle for cleaning up the area by painting, replacing hoses, removing unused wiring, etc. Here are some before and after photos. On the photo of the new Racor note the priming pump in the middle of the filter.

jeez, that just sucks! Lots of hard work for access to the tanks and no go. Hope your back gets better soon!

It's looking good. I followed your pictures of the engine removal and stacking it on the other. What are you going to do? Can't stop now. Can you hire it done?

Good Luck,

pete

Well there isn’t much improvement in my back. Realistically I don’t hold much hope for it getting better since I had 9 procedures on it last year. I don’t want to have major surgery since the outcomes can be bad. My daughter in law has had many back surgeries and it just seems to make it worse.

No I can’t hire it out since there isn’t anyone here that could do it. We live in a small town and the boat mechanics here do mostly outboards and pontoon boats. They are usually surprised at what I am doing on my boat. Well I was just going to replace the tanks as a precaution anyway so if the tanks ever start to leak I have all the stuff needed to pull the engines.

Great improvement Dave, look after your back and enjoy your boat mate

Thanks, we put the engine back in on Wednesday. Took 3 hours going back in. Didn’t think that was too bad. Hardest thing was getting the exhaust hose back on while we were dropping the engine in. Now I have a bunch of wiring to do since I can get to the other side of the engine room where all the wiring is.
