Exterior caulk?

After much researching on this and other forums "we" have decided to go with TDS caulk. Talking to TDS two days ago they recommended that we lightly secure the quarter round initially with the same SS screws we removed and after the TDS has cured we will come back and tighten them after dosing the smooth shank with some type of other caulk (4000 or Sitka depending on what I can find locally). TDS also told us that SIS 440 caulk will be fine on paint (cabin sides) as long as it has been scuffed. I have also adopted an earlier Bob Lowe post filling the screw holes with CPES and toothpicks to give more purchase for the fasteners even though that is not necessarily indicated. Have everything taped and ready to go tomorrow afternoon.
