Hi Guys I have just busted my VDO Sumlog cable again and cannot locate one here in NZ if you have a cable driven Sumlog and it "pooped" itself would you bother replacing it or just go with electronics.

There was one in a previous boat I owned. I just ripped it out and glassed the thru hull opening closed. GPS works very well.

I did the same thing, it was very inaccurate to boot.

Any speedometer or tachometer shop can make a new cable in 10 min for almost no bucks.

Probably should be stainless as the sumlog cable runs wet.

Neat device, very cool, not that accurate though. Had one on a 20' inboard skiff. Odometer was cool, just like a car.

But also very obsolete with GPS tech available.
