Bioremediation of a Diesel Leak

I had a fuel leak in the boat the other day and fuel ran from the stern, down under the aft berth, under the muffler, into some drain holes and finally into the bilge.

I will flush it, but doubt that will get all the diesel out. So has anyone here tried bioremediation to clean out a pocket of diesel/oil? How did it work out and what did you use?

Thanks

I use diapers to get whatever I can. Then I use Extreme Simple Green, not Simple Green, to do the heavy duty cleaning. Once it is cleaned up Peggie Hall has a smell killing product she recommends but I can’t remember the name right now. Maybe PM her.

So far - I stopped the leak, removed the source, used some enzyme cleaner I don't feel did anything, did a lot of water slowly flushing the effected area into the bilge where the diapers do a great job of capturing. Then to address the odor that was in all the cushions etc. I ran an ozone generator a few times.

But that still left some odor so I got some Petro Buster bio-bugs and had applied that. I will find out in a few days if that was worth the $88.
