So if the boat I am looking at has a 17 year old Genny with 3500 hours, it may be worth taking it out as part of my refit and going to a 9 kw if it fits. Still would be interested in the load share cost.

Nice but, how much?

$439 at Defender. Add $300 soft starters like the EasyStart on the A/C units, you would still be out only a fraction of the expense of a new generator. IMHO, it might be worth a try.

Time to take measurements??? Take weight into consideration too. Remember to look at the generator with maintenance into consideration.

Though I will admit, a/c in the ER would be nice.
