I'm looking to install a transom shower but I have limited space for it. My transom depth is only 4" and it seems all the units I've found require more space than that. I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a shower that only needs 4" of depth or less. This one for example has a mounting depth of only 1.75" but I'm pretty positive there needs to be space to tilt the shower head to remove it.

The top of the transom has railings so installing it on the surface of the transom really isn't an option.

Maybe build a small box out of Starboard to give you a bit more depth.

Have you looked at the Scandvik Euro model ?

Boatoutfitters.com makes custom made doors and storage boxes. They may be able to make a tilt out locker for a shower. No affiliation but have bought from them before and they were great to work with.

A piece of starboard (or other PVC lumber) used as a frame might help step the box out far enough to allow for the box to clear. Chamfer or round over the edges if the plate needs to be larger than the shower box.
