V-Berth Matress source?

Any good leads on having a decent V-Berth mattress made? Not looking for ultra cheap, but not overly expensive either.

Thoughts?

Peter

Handcraft Mattress tells a good story on their website. Lots of options. We looked at replacing ours (previous boat) via a local dealer... but got sidetracked, different boat now...

There have been at least two long "mattress" threads, one here and one on CF, that you might find useful...

We have used one from Amazon in our last 2 boats. It is an 8” memory foam mattress. Price is about $200 for a queen. Then cut it to size and shape with an electric knife. We think it is very comfortable.

We have a mattress that we spent close to $2,000 for at home. ( I can’t believe I spent that on a mattress) We both sleep better on the 4 inch memory foam on the boat.

I used Mattress Insider.com. https://www.mattressinsider.com/cust...attresses.html

Honestly, they were great. Made a template out of heavy paper for my odd shaped master SR mattress. They made a custom 10" memory foam mattress for me which has a nice finished covering on it. It's very comfortable and fits perfectly. I even had them make me two sets of fitted bottom sheets. All in was around $800. Very happy with them and would certainly use them again.

We used Portland Mattresses in Portland Maine. Not cheap, but exceptional quality.
