There is a little discussion on the Intracoastal Water Way site about

You know it is a perfect cruising day when . . . . .

You fill in the blank

To get it started You are heading for a free dock for the night, and find space is open.

...you leave the dock and safely return.

There is a light breeze.

A day on the water, when you get to observe a full-scale replica of a 500 year old Spanish ship being built in your own back yard (San Diego.)

The weather cooperates, the temperatures are moderate, it's a relaxing day for all aboard, everyone on board has a good time and I can make a "no touch landing"* when I get back to the slip.

* a "no touch landing" is when I can back the boat into the slip without touching either side or the back end of the slip.

You get to the boat, it's a nice day, light breeze, and everything is as it should be, with all blinking lights indicating what you would like them to indicate, so there are no little niggling queries distracting you as you leave the dock.

When nobody posts on this forum. Everybody must be out having fun!

Your'e cruise was delightful and UNEVENTFUL !!

+1 to FF and Eagle419.

When you go out and return with nothing broken, stopped up or not working.

When you are docking and the crew says to dock hands, "we don't need help. The captain knows how to handle his boat". That has happened to you---hasn't it?:D

Not that I can remember but then my wife is my only crew.

When the grandkids are happy!

They pretty much all are. Sure beats working. Even the ones where things go wrong, looking back they don't seem all that bad. As long as the boat stays right side up and doesn't catch on fire or sink! ???

^ This.

Even then, a little fire or slightly sinking makes for good stories later in life.

I'm pretty firm about the right side up one though.

Unless I'm on a sailboat, then that's OK too.

Apparently I have pretty low expectations (and standards).

When the crew has a good attitude like Jennifer's.:thumb:
