Yarrow Bay, in Lake Washington. Terrific view of 3 separate fireworks shows.

Mentioned earlier we were in Lake Union, Seattle. There was a big boat fire about 15 minutes before the fireworks. On the north shore of the lake is a big boat storage facility-stacked storage for small boats, stacked about 5 high. Someone from a house on the hill above was setting off rockets and one landed in a boat on the rack. Set it on fire and then burned about 8-10 other boats. Fortunately, a worker there was able to get their big forklift started and got the boat off the rack before the whole thing went up. It was quite a sight!

We saw the smoke cloud from Yarrow Bay (Kirkland)...thought it was smoke from illegal fireworks, preceding the main shows. Happy it wasn't worse than it was.

On the boat again tonight...another gorgeous evening, much like last night.

Mandeville Tip, California Delta for the annual Hilton-sponsored fireworks. Pretty calm and quiet here...just a few boaters, revelers, water fights and bathing beauties. My eyes and neck are still sore from trying to look in three directions at once.

That's my favorite Trawler Forum cozy. I probably shouldn't be using it daily since they're as rare as hen's teeth. Someday I'll donate it to the Trawler Forum Museum and Hall of Fame.

"Flywright's speed has definitely improved!"

It helps to have friends with fast boats. The Windmill Cove bar was calling our names, so us guys needed to make a bar run. I'm not used to going that fast on the water.

Two days post 4th sitting at anchor at cocktail time off Pickering I and the Eaton Is in Penobscot Bay, Maine, listening to Keith Jarrett's Koln Concert and watching ospreys and eagles on a perfect warm Maine summer eve. Life is good.

On San Diego bay aboard a 48 foot committee boat enjoying the fireworks from four barges firing off in sync. They first fired off a red boom boom for a computer check and we all thought "not again!" But the rest of the fireworks went off without a hitch for the eighteen minutes of the show.

Sat on the Town Docks in Beaufort Tuesday through Thursday (fireworks waaay in the distance at Atlantic Beach and Morehead City) then moved to Morehead City Yacht Basin for Friday night. Saturday night we were up-close-and-personal for the fireworks in Oriental for Croakerfest! Great week of vacation. (although we had *planned* to goto Manteo, but early week weather prevented it)

New Bern's celebration must have been great. We did that a few years ago and it was beautiful. With the SW winds that day, I'll bet the anchorage was PACKED!

Fisherman's Bay, Lopez Island

Great small-town parade, BBQ, Booksale, and Fireworks. We also had fantastic weather.

Got chased by sea creatures, endured harsh weather, and savaged by vicious shelling. Nevertheless, we managed to survive.
