Friz, your avatar picture reminded me of our dachshund yelping as a small snapping turtle bit on to his ear and held on for dear life. My old Cajun neighbor told me "a snapper won't let go till sunset or if he hears thunder" I was able to pry him loose with a big screwdriver. That dog never messed with any turtle again.
