Not a knotmeter or log.

Probably just a simple 6 minute (1/10th of an hour) timer for doing dead reckoning chart work when making lots of course changes.

Best described here...have no idea what they were individually used for...just accurate time intervals like NS was pointing out...

Heck, may not even be boat related....

It has distinct red lines at 3 and 6.

Assuming these are minutes, it would correlate with the 3 minute and 6 minute rules for reckoning.

In 3 minutes: 100 times speed in knots equals yards travelled.

In 6 minutes: speed in knots divided by ten equals nautical miles travelled.
