Dwejra Bay - Gozo, Malta

This is the view just after we arrived at Dwejra Bay to anchor for the night. It's in the middle of nowhere, but with excellent 4G reception
During the night, the star show we witnessed was something like we haven't seen in years. It's easy to forget just how many stars are in the sky when you live most of the year near "light pollution" !


2nd picture is borrowed from the internet, since I don't have (nor never will have) a drone. It shows Dwejra Bay in its entirety.

Timicrinn; I can’t locate Prince of Wales Arm in Rosario Strait and can’t ID the peaks, except for the two prominent ones, which I guess are the east half of Orcas Is.? Or is the low island on the right, Cypress at Tide Point, and everything else is Orcas?

Can you orient me with your heading and identifying the indicated land masses?

Hey soin2la…it was a confusing post. Just tried to be brief with the pictures and all.
The first picture was taken as we left Jervis inlet and made the turn north into Prince of Wales Reach on our way to Princess Louisa inlet. We had left Egmont on the Sechelt Penninsula. Don’t know the mountain names but there were so many and so beautiful.
The second picture was taken in the San Juan’s between Cypress and Blakley island on our way to Anacortes. Made the turn in the Rosario Strait…and got hit with the pea soup fog.

Well that makes a whole lot more sense now, thanks.

I thought those mountains were too high and rugged to be the San Juans. I think the two knobber is Mt Fredrick William, above Patrick Point in Princess Royal Reach. The nipple in the middle is probably Mt Helena, above Malibu.

Just Cruzin................

First Mate and I are currently in Peel, Isle of Man. We are here for the Manx Grand Prix motorcycle races. I am an ex competitor, strutting my stuff here in 1976,77,78 and 79.


We left our home port, Littlehampton, on May 22nd and expect to finish our cruise mid October.


Weather not been great, little sun, wind mostly against us or too much or not enough, but hey, thats Sailing.


Our Island Packet SP Cruiser has proved very comfortable and economical - 4.5 litres per hour under power, much less with sail assistance. Only problem so far is an iffy pump in the shower pump box. Touching wood as I write this....................

Wow! Impressive!! We visited Fiji in 2009 (not on our boat, but by plane). Fascinating place. Especially the snorkeling around the coral reefs.
