Traveller in Solomons

Anyone know the story behind the custom trawler Traveller currently in Solomons, Maryland. Looks likes very seaworthy steel and/or aluminum build. Not sure if it matches up with the following story from 2004.

Traveller was the name of Robert E Lee's horse.
Not sure if the horse could swim well...

I think Brian Saunders used to own and cruise that boat. Passagemaker mag story years ago IIRC.

Looks like it on the cover of the Fall '96 Issue of PMM

Thanks, Found a diesel duck article in which Brian was described as buying the first 382. It mentioned his previous aluminum 48 Traveller which was in the Fall '96 issue. Another search and I saw the cover. It looks like it has been taken care of over the past 20+ years.

Nice boat, and the mottled grey suits it well.

Traveller in Solomons

I like it. Thanks for sharing. Wonder if Brian ever sold his Duck. I lusted after it for quite awhile and even contemplated going to look at it, then my wife reminded me it was on the west coast in Mexico and told me no. 🤣

Sometimes I need to be told no.

"Traveller in Solomons"

I read it as the Solomon Islands the first time I looked at the post. It looks as if it may be able to cruise there.

Looks like it could roll around in the surf zone on a beach, shrug it off, and continue on the high tide.
