Several years ago I put a transom mounted side scan transducer on a 38' Fu Hua with a single engine on the starboard corner. There was a split opinion about whether the prop wash would making looking to port a problem but I didn't notice any. I am thinking about doing that again. Does anyone else have any experience with transom mounted transducers?

I have never put transom mounted transducers on larger boats, just on trailerable boats. Why not go with a through hull ducer?

I have no problems with the transom mounted transducer on my Camano. Also mounted on the starboard corner.

The main reason is you only need one transducer to get port and starboard side scan and have a transducer that is easily replaceable without hauling the boat.

Does this transducer have a speed paddle or any moving parts? Other than moving parts I have never had to replace a transducer but I suppose it could happen.
