Which tow service?

The friendliest place on the web for anyone who enjoys boating.

The one that has the most tow boats in your area of operation

We have had TowboatUS for many years. Only used it once, but service exceeded expectations. Some Towboat outlets provide service 75 miles offshore which covers some of the Bahamas. Towboat also covers any boat you own anywhere. We use it for our cruising boat in Florida and river boat in Alabama, same policy. Can’t speak for Seatow.

Sea Tow is very similar agreement wise.

Used to pay more for tows they couldn't cover than BoatUS .

Some areas are covered or better covered by BoatUS.

Any service from either is still only as good as the captain and equipment and dispatch as the one coming for you.

Many long range coastal Atlantic cruisers get both. One may be nearer, one may have better equipment, one may do more as an uncovered response but might out of good will....etc...etc...

We have been happy with SeaTow.

I own 5 boats between NJ and FL. One Seatow membership covers them all. Have used them 5 times in 7 years. Two easy groundings inside the channel markers and three out of the blue mechanical breakdowns. Quick response and excellent service.

Any way to figure out density of actual coverage. Promo literature makes it sound like there’s little difference between the two.
Btw thanks for the input.

Look at their maps and your oparea.

Belt and suspenders. Get them both, just in case.
