No, not engines...
I admit it, I'm a project guy. A "do-er". Afflicted with OCD-engineering disease will do that to you.
I like working on boats, making changes, improvements, repairs (less-so) almost as much as cruising.
I keep a record of the larger projects (AND REPAIRS) I have done to the boat and an estimate of how many hours I spent on it. There are countless other piddly things that get done in between, of course.
Holy cow!! After just over 2 years of ownership -- 1480 manhours so far. That's the estimate of only the actual work - not including ordering parts, organizing, cleanup, etc.
Let's see, at $100/hr average yard labor cost, that's $148,000.00 of labor!! Whew!
I think it's time to slow down..Sheesh!......
BTW, we HAVE cruised over 1800 miles between NC and Key West in that time......
