Swim Platforms

Hi all, my current swim platform is rather narrow with the transom angle on my 79 DeFever Downeast, so I’m considering a longer one. Googling doesn’t come up with many hits for platform manufacturers. Recommendations for quality platforms is appreciated. Thanks

I've seen a couple of examples of their work, owners seemed happy:

I traditionally highly recommended Butler Marine who was extremely knowledgeable and high quality, but am not sure if they are still around; their website is gone. Haven't tried calling them lately: Phone: (570) 451-1222 | Toll Free: (888) 859-0022

I am currently using this company to redo the teak on my swim platform and steps. I do not know if they fabricate whole platforms though. It would be worth a call to them, they are very responsive via phone or email.

Quality outfit who came highly recommended.

JM, have you considered a plastic/fiberglass platform instead of a high maintenance teak one?

I used https://butlermarine.com for a fiberglass swim platform for my GB. They also do wood platforms. Great customer service and great pricing...oh ya GREAT PRODUCT!

Last winter I had a local fabricator extend my platform by two feet. He cut my platform in half and added two feet keeping the stock look and the built in ladder. After a summers use I wish I had done it years ago.

I also used Butler Marine and the service and product were outstanding. I added 6” so To support the longer platform I added bronze L bar to the top of the brackets vs replacing the brackets. Was a design I saw the now closed Grand Banks owners website. Works well.

I added 13". Tried the above idea, but one of the supports collapsed under the added strain of supporting the outside portion, so far from the curved bronze support. New SS supports, no hull penetrations below the WL, all good.
