Yes, Marin and myself are both from Squalicum Harbor in Bellingham, WA. This fire occurred very near Marin's regular moorage. He was however located far from the fire due to construction in the marina involving his dock and the dock adjoined by this boathouse. It appears that we have lost two local boater, neighbors as a result. I was unable to get near either of our boats today to check on downwind soot damage, but I am not particularly concerned. I tried to go down to work on my boat this morning and was turned away by security. This is the kind of stuff we all pretend could never happen to us.
