Two Fridays ago my friend with the 4588 Bayliner phones. He says his admiral is missing her dogs (they did a two week trip up to the Gulf Islands) and would I want to fly up to Roche and help him with the last leg of the trip? I said sure, so she flew to Seattle on Sat morn and I flew up. That's Whidbey Island and Mt. Baker in the first shot. The second is approaching Roche. Destination Poulsbo!
First night, in the Marina at Roche. On Sunday morning we toured a couple of boats there, including the 92' Selene. That's the helm and hot tub shot.
Second day anchored in Blind Bay. I made a crab/shrimp tortilla casserole. We dinghied over to Orcas. They have a new cider place there (3 days in business) that was fun. I have a nice shot of it but the forum only allows 10 images it seems. My buddy is quite the bartender. That's a margarita made with a couple of fruit juices, muddled basil, and a watermelon stir stick.
Third day we planned to anchor at Port Gamble, but it was windy and not too special. So we went back up to Port Ludlow. Examining the tides, the low tide was +1.6' early the next morning. I have always wanted to anchor in that back bay and we gave it a shot. We arrived and were the only ones there until later another Bayliner came in. Consistent 15' of water. No wind, it was actually pretty hot there.
My buddy made cioppino, it was altogether glorious! Fun little trip.
