Took a look at a 1986 MMC 36ft trawler. Looks very nice and well kept. Previous owner passed and son wants it sold. Only draw back for me is that she is a single screw and I am soooo very used to twins. I guess practice makes perfect. She has a Single Perkins 6-354. I'm told this is a good engine. Has 1820 hrs on it. Does anyone know what horse power this engine makes? What can I expect as far as cruising speed and max speed. Been eyeing her for about 6 months.
Thanks
Jim

Yup!

A 36 ft boat should cruise at 6K perhaps 6.5K .

You might see 7.5 or 8K on a WOT sea trial , but the fuel burn will probably be 300% of the 6K cruise.

Best first investment , a good working autopilot.

I have same engine and everything I have says that it's 135 hp
