Say NO to E-15 ethanol in gasoline

This from the latest Boat/US communication:
__________________________________________________

As we look forward to Memorial Day weekend, and the unofficial beginning of summer, we've been presented with both good news and bad news about marine fuel. The good news is that we won't have to worry about paying upwards of $5.00 per gallon at the fuel dock this year. The Energy Information Administration projected regular-grade land based fuel to average around $2.23 per gallon April through September, and we're seeing it right now around $2.50 at the dock.

Unfortunately, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is taking steps to further increase ethanol blends in gasoline to 15% (E15), without the benefit of testing on engines to see what impact it may have. We know that increased ethanol blends are likely to cause performance problems with marine engine and fuel systems, increase maintenance costs, potentially pose safety risks and yet, the EPA is being pressured by ethanol lobbyists to push through this change without proper testing.

The boating community has until May 21 to ask EPA to deny E15 until independent testing has shown it won't hurt gasoline powered engines. To quickly email your comments, click here: http://capwiz.com/nmma/issues/alert/...SS=Take+Action *

We are in an uphill battle on this politically charged issue. I encourage every boater to invest a minute now to help your boating later. Comments are due to the EPA by May 21.

See you on the water!

So why would you think they cared?
